Helldivers Movie Loses Jason Momoa as Its Star

Jason Momoa has exited the live-action Helldivers movie, according to reports from Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter. The change comes as a setback for Sony's adaptation of the popular PlayStation game, which is still on track for a November 10, 2027, release. Momoa, known for his role in Game of Thrones, was cast in February 2026, but his departure leaves the studio searching for a new lead actor. The film, directed by Justin Lin, remains in development with producers from PlayStation Productions and Perfect Storm Entertainment. The reason for Momoa's exit has not been disclosed.
