A Face in the Crowd
A charismatic small-town entertainer rises from obscurity to TV stardom and political power, but his growing influence threatens to corrupt the very ideals his young, idealistic mentor once believed in.

Synopsis
The story follows the meteoric rise of Lonesome Rhodes, a boisterous rural figure who begins as an itinerant Ozark guitar player, evolves into a local media provocateur, and eventually becomes a television superstar and influential political figure. Marcia Jeffries, an idealistic Sarah Lawrence College graduate, encounters Rhodes while he is imprisoned in a remote countryside jail, and she becomes the first person to be captivated by his charisma.
