A Friend of Dorothy
Synopsis
Winston begins his freshman year at NYU already aware of his sexuality and uncertain about where it will take him. He develops strong feelings for Tom, his temporary roommate, who is set to move to L.A., making it a risky decision for Winston to express them. At the same time, the Village offers numerous temptations and possibilities: sexual encounters in public restrooms, uninhibited socializing at parties, and encounters with Act-uppers. Winston also experiences confusing signals, such as those from a Moonie. With support from his hometown friend Anne, he maintains his balance and discovers an ideal meeting spot: the Judy Garland section at Tower Records.
