A Good Boy

After his mother's death, 17-year-old Sven moves in with his father, Achim, a taxi driver, who had divorced his mother several years earlier. It is difficult for Achim to adjust to having an adolescent in the house, especially since Sven rarely speaks to him. Despite this, Sven performs well in school, and Achim hopes that time will help them grow closer. It is Achim's girlfriend, Julia, who first notices that something is wrong with Sven. She wonders why he spends so much time with young boys and why he has no friends his own age. She suspects that he is gay. The truth, however, is more complex and disturbing: Sven has pedophilic tendencies. This is soon confirmed by videos that shock and sicken Achim. Sven is deeply remorseful and regrets his actions. Julia suggests therapy, but Achim is convinced that he and Sven can deal with the issue on their own. He is mistaken. Though Sven practically begs his father to lock him in his room, Achim remains confident in his son.
