A Hero's Welcome
Synopsis
After completing a long deployment in Afghanistan, young soldier David Kleinschmidt returns to his home village in the southern Black Forest earlier than expected. He is greeted warmly by his girlfriend, Kirsten, and his mother, Inge. His eight-year-old half-brother, Benni, looks up to him with admiration. However, David is noticeably changed—he is withdrawn and no longer the same person he was before his time abroad.
