A Jitney Elopement
“Charlie Chaplin's fifth film for Essanay Films”
Synopsis
Edna's father hopes to see her married to the wealthy Count He-Ha. To win Edna's affection, Charlie, her true love, disguises himself as the Count during a dinner. However, the real Count unexpectedly arrives, exposing Charlie's ruse and leading to his expulsion. Later, Charlie and Edna are pursued by Edna's father, the Count, and three police officers. The chase culminates in the pursuers driving off a pier.
