A Moment in the Reeds
Synopsis
Leevi moves to Paris for university but returns to Finland for the summer to assist his estranged father in renovating their family lake house in preparation for its sale. Tareq, a recent asylum seeker from Syria, has been hired to help with the renovation. When Leevi's father leaves for a business trip, the two young men grow close and begin a romance amid the peaceful setting of the Finnish summer. Their relationship, however, is shadowed by the father's impending return, Leevi's upcoming academic term abroad, and Tareq's complicated ties to his family in Syria.
