A Radiant Life
Synopsis
In 1952, the Radiant City of Marseille welcomed its first residents—eighty civil servants who had been compensated for their war service and came from across France. Some were drawn by the promise of Le Corbusier’s urban ideals. Upon arrival, a couple explores the assigned location, facilities, and living space, each responding individually to the new environment. They notice its uniqueness and its details. The body begins to question the utopia. A new Eden emerging from post-war reconstruction, the Radiant City floats above the aftermath as if nothing had happened. Within its confines, a settled coldness, loneliness, and sterility take hold.
