Synopsis

In elementary school, Shouya Ishida bullies Shouko Nishimiya, the new girl in class, because she is deaf. As his teasing continues, the rest of the class begins to turn against him for his lack of compassion. After they graduate from elementary school, Shouko and Shouya no longer speak to each other... until years later, when an older and wiser Shouya, tormented by his past behavior, decides he must see Shouko again. He wants to atone for his sins, but wonders whether it is already too late.
