A Simple Twist of Fate

Synopsis
Michael McCann, after being rejected by the woman he loves, becomes a misanthrope and a miser, channeling his spare money into collecting gold coins. In the same town resides a wealthy family with two sons, John and Tanny. Tanny, a rebellious youth, is difficult for John to manage. One night, he breaks into McCann's home, steals the gold, and flees, reinforcing McCann's distrust of people. Soon after, a mysterious young woman dies in the snow outside McCann's house, and her young daughter approaches McCann's home, eventually entering his life and touching his heart.
