Synopsis
Mike Kersjes is a special-education teacher and football coach in Michigan. He does not talk down to his "special" students and believes they are capable of achieving great things. When Mike learns about Space Camp, a competitive educational program at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, he comes up with an idea. Although the program is intended for gifted science students, Mike believes participating in the summer program could greatly boost his students' self-esteem, especially for one who aspires to become an astronaut.
