Synopsis
Sammy, a sea turtle hatched on a beach in Baja, California in 1959, begins his journey by racing across the sand to the ocean, evading seagulls and crabs. His fifty-year voyage through the ocean sees him face both natural and human-made challenges as he pursues his dream of circumnavigating the globe. During his travels, he meets Ray, a turtle who becomes his best friend, and remains devoted to Shelly, another turtle he rescued on his first day on the beach and whom he has always loved.
