Synopsis
*Acts of Violence* is a behind-the-scenes documentary that presents a scene-by-scene breakdown of all the incidents of violence in David Cronenberg's film *A History of Violence*. Directed by Cronenberg's wife, Carolyn Zeifman, who has been married to him for more than 26 years, the film offers a new perspective on the filmmaker, who has long been regarded as the king of cinematic depravity due to his graphic exploration of violent and sexual themes. The documentary highlights the relaxed, familial atmosphere on a Cronenberg set, as described by his long-time and loyal crew, and examines the many unique challenges of the production. It also explores the film's various themes of violence, particularly in the context of America.
