Synopsis
In the 16th century in the Cévennes, Michael Kohlhaas, a horse dealer, enjoys a happy and prosperous family life. After being treated unjustly by a lord, this pious and upstanding man raises an army and wages war, putting the country to fire and sword in his quest to have his rights restored.
