Ahead of the Class
Synopsis
This drama is based on real-life events. Marie Stubbs, a small-statured Glaswegian headmistress nearing retirement, takes on one final challenge: improving the fortunes of St George's School in northwest London, which was at risk of closure following the infamous murder of its previous headmaster, Philip Lawrence, in 1995. He was killed while intervening in a fight between his pupils and students from a rival school.
