Akuemon
Synopsis
A fortuneteller informs Hidari Taisho that he must hunt down 1,000 foxes in order to conquer the country. As a result, Akuemon, a man disliked by everyone, is hired to carry out the foxhunting. In response, the foxes send a female fox to Akuemon's house, where she disguises herself as his wife. A story unfolds between Akuemon, who has never known love, and the female fox, who gradually discovers genuine affection in him, even as she is tormented by grief over the deaths of her comrades. This is the sixth work in "The Lion Books" series. It is also the first attempt by visualist Tezuka Makoto, the older son of Tezuka, to adapt an original work by his father into an animated version.
