Alice in the Cities
A German journalist battling writer's block and a young girl stranded in America embark on a drifting journey across the U.S., forming an unlikely bond as they search for belonging.
Synopsis
German journalist Philip Winter struggles with writer’s block while attempting to write an article about the United States and decides to return to Germany. While trying to book a flight, he meets a German woman and her nine-year-old daughter, Alice, who are also attempting to return to Germany. The three form a friendship, largely out of necessity. The woman asks Winter to look after Alice temporarily, but it soon becomes clear that Alice will remain under his care for longer than he anticipated.
