Synopsis
At 65, retired dentist Almuth Seegers sells her practice and finds herself adrift, emotionally detached even from her mother, who resides in a nursing home. The arrival of Rita Ritter, a lively East German woman and terrier owner newly hired as her cleaning lady, begins to break through Almuth’s solitude. As their lives intersect, Almuth’s reserved nature clashes with Rita’s open-hearted energy, leading to an unexpected friendship that forces Almuth to face emotions she has long kept buried.
