The documentary chronicles the ongoing fight for land rights in the Western United States and the conflicts that led to the Malheur Standoff. This is the personal story of the Hammonds, an Oregon ranching family whose twenty year fight with government agencies led to their controversial trial and conviction on an anti-terrorism charge. American Standoff tells a story as tragic and incredible as the West itself.
