Synopsis
Krystyna, a Czech refugee, makes the journey to New York in search of Anna, her actress idol and fellow expatriate. Upon arriving in the city, Anna discovers that fame does not easily transfer across borders, and she faces a series of demeaning auditions in an effort to find work in her new home. When Krystyna and Anna finally reunite, they offer each other a crucial source of support.
