Synopsis
The bear leaves Berlin, frustrated with the city. Along the way, two Russian women, Anna and her daughter Arisha, hire him as a driver. They are joined by a Santa Claus who dislikes Christmas and a Vietnamese family traveling to the sea. Together, they sing "The Weeping Song" by Nick Cave, and they set out to find a buried stone ring on the beach. The film was commissioned by a Japanese car museum, where it was shown with six different scents, using car seats that tilted in corners and shook on cobblestone pavement. This small film helped save a larger one: *Faraway, So Close!* could not have been completed due to financial constraints had this opportunity to make a short film with the same team not arisen. It was through this project that the final week of shooting *Faraway, So Close!* was financed.
