Synopsis
The documentary *Attenborough's Journey* follows David Attenborough as he travels the world to film his series *David Attenborough's First Life*, in which he explores the origins of life on Earth. He visits locations that have held special significance for him over his 50 years in broadcasting, beginning near his childhood home in Leicestershire, where he first collected fossils. His journey takes him to the arid deserts of Morocco, the glaciers of Canada, and the crystal-clear waters of Australia's Great Barrier Reef. As a prelude to the *First Life* series, the film offers a unique insight into Attenborough's mind and character, highlighting his passion for the natural world. Combining footage from his global journey for *First Life* with archival material reflecting on his career as a programme maker and former controller of the BBC, the film reveals the motivations behind his work.
