Auntie Danielle

Tatie Danielle is a black comedy centered on a widow determined to ruin the lives of her great-nephew and his wife. Tsilla Chelton portrays the title character, who copes with her husband's death by tormenting those around her. She eventually moves in with her nephew and his vain wife, leading to a family conflict that results in them fleeing to Greece, leaving Tatie in the care of Sandrine (Isabelle Nanty), an au pair who shares her bitterness. Initially at odds, the two eventually form a friendship. However, when Sandrine is invited to spend the night at the beach with an American student, Tatie, feeling abandoned, fires her. Left alone, Tatie descends into depression and sets fire to the family's apartment. The incident becomes a national news story, with Tatie portrayed as a victim and the family depicted as cruel and heartless.
