Avenger

After his daughter was killed in Panama in 1994, former CIA agent Calvin Dexter became a private "specialist" in cases that could not be resolved through the regular legal system. Two years later, he is hired by Stephen Edmonds, an influential and wealthy businessman, to find Richard "Ricky" Edmunds. Ricky had been working for a Canadian charity aiding war victims in Bosnia and then went missing. Dexter discovers that Ricky was beaten and drowned for no other reason than helping street boys from the opposing side, a crime committed by Zoran Zilic and his Serbian paramilitary group. Dexter offers to "finish the job," as such war criminals typically avoid trial. However, Deputy CIA Director Paul Devereaux is more concerned with a nuclear arms project that requires Zilic's cooperation. As a result, CIA troubleshooter Frank McBride is assigned to protect Zilic and manage Dexter.
