In 1979 East Germany, two families risk everything to build a homemade hot air balloon to escape the Iron Curtain, but when their first attempt fails and the Stasi begins to investigate, they must race against time to complete a second, life-or-death flight.

Synopsis
Two families in East Germany devise a daring escape plan using a homemade hot air balloon, but the attempt fails just short of the border. The Stasi discovers evidence of the failed escape and initiates an investigation, forcing the families to construct a new balloon. As the Stasi closes in, the families face a tense and urgent race against time to complete their second attempt.
