Baltie zvani
Synopsis
A little girl wanders alone in the morning through a bustling city, searching for the white bells she saw in the window of a florist's shop. The film marked the emergence of a new cinematic language in Latvian cinema. It won awards at the San Francisco and Oberhausen film festivals and was listed among the "world’s 100 best short films" by film critics at the 1995 Clermont-Ferrand film festival. The three filmmakers, along with their peers, became the founders of the legendary Riga School of Poetic Documentary.
