Battle of Kings: Bannockburn
Synopsis
By 1314, through military effort and political maneuvering, Scottish King Robert Bruce had captured every major English-held castle in Scotland except for Stirling. In response, English King Edward II launched a campaign to halt Bruce's advances and end the Scottish rebellion. The conflict culminated in the pivotal Battle of Bannockburn, fought in the shadow of Stirling Castle. As modern Scotland considers a referendum on renewed independence, the film explores the motivations and inner lives of the key figures whose actions at Bannockburn helped shape the nation. Filmed in the visual style of *300* and *Sin City*, with intense and graphic battle sequences, the film brings to life one of the most significant periods in Scottish history.
