Synopsis

Three years after the events of the original *Battle Royale*, Shuya Nanahara has become an internationally known terrorist, leading a campaign against the government. His group, Wild Seven, carries out a devastating attack in Tokyo on Christmas Day, destroying several buildings and killing 8,000 people. In response, the government initiates a new version of the Battle Royale program, requiring students to work in pairs. Each pair is connected by electronic collars that trigger simultaneous death if one member is killed. The students are given three days to kill Nanahara—or face death themselves.
