Synopsis
Animals Are Beautiful People, also known as Beautiful People, is a 1974 South African nature documentary written, produced, directed, filmed and edited by Jamie Uys. The film depicts wildlife in Southern Africa with comedic elements and was shot in the Namib Desert, the Kalahari Desert, and at the Okavango River and Okavango Delta. It received the Golden Globe Award for Best Documentary Film in 1974. The independently produced documentary was a critical and commercial success and was created by Uys, who later directed the African comedy The Gods Must Be Crazy (1980).
