Synopsis
Séverine Serizy, a young and attractive housewife, struggles to reconcile her masochistic desires with the constraints of her conventional life with her devoted husband, Pierre. After her infatuated friend Henri speaks of an exclusive high-class brothel operated by Madame Anais, Séverine begins working there during the day under the alias Belle de Jour. However, when one of her clients becomes overly possessive, she is forced to attempt to return to her ordinary life.
