Synopsis
A newspaper publisher, seeking to demonstrate the inadequacy of circumstantial evidence, convinces his potential son-in-law, Tom, to participate in a hoax designed to expose the city's rigid district attorney as incompetent. The scheme involves Tom planting evidence that implicates him in the murder of a female nightclub dancer. After Tom is convicted, he is to reveal the deception, thereby discrediting the DA.
