Black Orpheus
A young musician in Rio de Janeiro must protect his forbidden lover from a vengeful ex-fiancée and a mysterious hitman during the chaos of Carnaval, in a passionate, surreal retelling of the Orpheus myth.

Synopsis
Young lovers Orfeu and Eurydice flee through the favelas of Rio during Carnaval, evading a hitman dressed as Death, Orfeu's vengeful fiancée Mira, and moving between fantasy and stark reality. This impressionistic retelling of the Greek legend of Orpheus and Eurydice introduced bossa nova to the world through its soundtrack composed by young Brazilian musicians Luiz Bonfá and Antonio Carlos Jobim.
