Border Blues
Synopsis
Moscow police detective Andrei Somov resigns and moves to the United States, but is forced to take a low-paying job at a restaurant while his teenage son and pregnant daughter-in-law are denied exit visas. Known as "Andy," he meets some LAPD officers after offering his expertise and Russian language skills, and is later sent to Tijuana to purchase inexpensive tiles. During this trip to Mexico, Somov encounters Larry, another ethnic Russian and U.S. citizen who lost his daughter years earlier and now assists families in illegally entering the country. At the same time, psychic medium Michael March has a vision about a deranged bomber targeting pharmaceutical companies and feels uneasy after handling an envelope that belongs to Larry.
