Synopsis
In 'Bouchra,' directors Merriam Bennani and Orian Bakri use animation to craft an intimate, semi-autobiographical story that explores themes of queer identity and the complex relationships between mothers and daughters. Rather than presenting a traditional documentary or live-action drama, the film employs animated visuals to convey deep emotional truths while maintaining a level of narrative distance.
