Synopsis
Giuseppe Di Vittorio was an Italian communist politician and labor union leader. He was born on April 28, 1890, in Rome, Italy. Di Vittorio played a significant role in the Italian labor movement and was a founding member of the Italian Communist Party in 1921. He served as the general secretary of the Italian General Confederation of Labor (CGIL) from 1944 to 1950. Di Vittorio was also a member of the Italian parliament and held various political positions, including minister of labor and social security in the early 1950s. He was known for his commitment to workers' rights and social justice. Giuseppe Di Vittorio passed away on April 24, 1957, in Rome.
