Synopsis
This surrealistic fantasy draws inspiration from 15th-century woodcuts depicting the Dance of the Dead. Presented as a film experiment, it explores the intersection of photorealism and surrealism in life. The film is a collage-animation that combines photographs and newsreel footage, cutting and reassembling them to create a visual mix of unexplainable facts—such as Harpo Marx playing a harp in the middle of a battlefield—with inexplicable events, such as the battlefield itself. It functions as a black comedy and a fantasy that satirizes death, serving as a parabolic parable.
