Synopsis
When a wealthy stockbroker hires a rough builder to renovate the wine cellar underneath his country house, the two men fall out with chilling consequences. A Gothic suspense thriller inspired by Edgar Allan Poe and hailed by David Fincher as "a morbid yet classy take on a morbid classic," *Bricks* is a tense thriller about wealth, wine, and the art of bricklaying. Updating Poe's classic revenge tale *The Cask of Amontillado* for modern times, the film follows rich stockbroker William (Blake Ritson, *Da Vinci's Demons*), who hires rough builder Clive (Jason Flemyng, *The Curious Case of Benjamin Button*) to renovate his wine cellar. The two men couldn't be more different: William is rich and refined; Clive is tough and uncouth. But in the shadowy cellar, they find common ground—at least at first.
