C.H.U.D. is a 1984 American science fiction horror film directed by Douglas Cheek and starring John Heard, Daniel Stern, and Christopher Curry in his film debut. The story follows a New York City police officer and a homeless shelter manager who join forces to investigate a string of mysterious disappearances. As they dig deeper, they uncover a horrifying truth: the missing individuals have been killed by grotesque, humanoid creatures that dwell in the city's sewers. The film blends elements of horror and social commentary, highlighting urban decay and the plight of the homeless.
