Carosello Carosone

Renato Carosone (1920–1997) was an influential Italian singer, songwriter, and bandleader known for his pivotal role in the development of Neapolitan music and the fusion of traditional Italian sounds with American jazz and swing. Born in Naples, Carosone gained prominence in the 1940s and 1950s, becoming one of the most recognizable voices of his era. His most famous composition, "Tu vuò fa l’americano," released in 1958, became an international hit and remains a staple of Italian popular culture. Carosone's work helped bridge the gap between classical Italian music and modern pop, influencing generations of musicians. He was also a television personality and performed extensively throughout his career, both in Italy and abroad. His contributions to music earned him numerous accolades, including the Premio Ciampi and a star on the Naples Walk of Fame.
