Child of the Big City
Synopsis
Mary, a seamstress, longs for a life beyond the confines of her sweatshop. Her aspirations begin to shift when she catches the eye of the bourgeois Victor. However, her interest in him wanes quickly, and through her actions, his financial resources are nearly depleted. When Victor proposes moving away from the city to live a simpler life on what remains of his money, Mary agrees and leaves him for another man. A year later, Victor is left in a dilapidated, cold dwelling, still longing for her.
