Christopher and His Kind
Synopsis
In 1931, aspiring author Christopher Isherwood travels to Berlin at the invitation of his friend W. H. Auden, drawn to the city's vibrant gay culture. He becomes involved with Heinz, a street sweeper, and assists in paying medical bills for Heinz's ill mother, an action that draws disapproval from Heinz's brother Gerhardt, a Nazi.
