The fates of three Catholic priests became intertwined through a tragic event several years earlier. Each year, on the anniversary of the catastrophe, they reunite to reflect on their survival. Lisowski works at a curia in a major city, advancing his career while aspiring to a position in the Vatican. His ambitions are complicated by Mordowicz, the archbishop, a high-ranking church official who uses political connections to construct the largest sanctuary in Poland. Trybus is a parish priest who often succumbs to human weaknesses. Kukuła is also struggling; despite his devotion to faith, he is losing the confidence of his congregation. As new tragic events unfold, the paths of the three priests are set to converge once more.
