We take an overview of California and its major trends which influence currents of thought throughout the world, and more particularly in Quebec. The New Age is a convenient label that brings together proponents of "new" therapies and those of "workouts", meditators and computer radicals. It may be that Quebec is only the outpost of the conquests of a new civilization which sells us on the one hand its computer technology and on the other hand its philosophy as instructions.
