Synopsis
An American retired professor lives a solitary life in a luxurious palazzo in Rome. He is confronted by a vulgar Italian marchesa, her lover, her daughter, and her daughter's boyfriend, who persuade him to rent them an apartment on the upper floor of his palazzo. From that moment, his quiet routine is disrupted by his tenants' schemes, and each person's life takes an unexpected yet inevitable turn.
