Synopsis
A documentary that explores the unexpected culture clash in Creede, Colorado—a remote mining town that invited a theater company in 1966 to revive its economy. What followed was a decades-long negotiation of identity, values, and belonging, as queer artists and progressive ideas took root in a place proud of its conservative heritage. With personal stories, tense town meetings, and reflections from original members like Mandy Patinkin, the film reveals how this tiny town became a powerful, poignant mirror of America’s larger divisions—and a testament to the complexity of living side by side.
