Moving through the city in a state of emotional suspension, she navigates temporary lodging, medical bureaucracy, and fleeting encounters with strangers who alternately offer intimacy, indifference, or quiet solidarity. As the date of the operation approaches, her journey becomes less about the procedure itself than about the weight of expectation, fear, and self-recognition.
