Synopsis
The film opens with footage from a stylish old melodrama centered on an isolated convent, whose story of repressed and unleashed passions serves as a leitmotif for a young lesbian who watches it and the lonely nun she pursues and seduces. As the two women's lives draw closer, voiceovers from the biography of a 16th-century lesbian nun and the recollections of a woman's closeted romantic experiences at a Catholic school expand on the central theme.
