Danny Deckchair

Based on a true story, the film follows Danny, a cement truck driver whose long-awaited vacation is ruined by his manipulative girlfriend, Trudy. Seeking escape from his bleak life in suburban Australia, Danny launches into the sky in a chair tethered to helium balloons. A powerful thunderstorm carries him far from home, depositing him over the peaceful town of Clarence. There, he encounters Glenda, the town's sole parking officer. As the media in Australia becomes consumed by his mysterious disappearance, Danny begins a new life in Clarence, eventually forming a meaningful bond with Glenda. When his identity is eventually uncovered, Trudy—now a media sensation—arrives in Clarence to retrieve him and return him to Sydney. However, Danny has changed; he has discovered happiness and a renewed sense of self-worth.
