The film "Motherland" by director Hai Ninh directly talks about the Northern border war in 1979. The film recreates the scene where the heroine Hoang Thi Hong Chiem (played by Dieu Thuan) hugs a package of explosives wrapped in a scarf and is surrounded by the enemy. At this time, she detonates the explosives she is holding, causing their bodies to disappear into smoke. The places mentioned are: Cao Bang, Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Nam Na, Po Hen. The famous line: "Hieu, Hung, Giang A Pao, do you hear your mother calling?"
