Synopsis
Onno, a 30-year-old man, applies for a coveted position as a curator at Amsterdam's Rijksmuseum. He progresses to the final round of interviews alongside Alex, an arrogant and self-assured young professional. Believing Alex has a strong advantage in securing the job, Onno becomes increasingly resentful. A few days before the final interview, he kidnaps Alex and confines him in a remote cottage near a railway line, which has recently been inherited by his girlfriend. Onno plans to release Alex only after he has been offered the job. Three years later, Onno is now a successful curator at the Rijksmuseum, living with his partner and their young son. When he needs to hire an assistant, he is surprised to find Alex among the applicants, now with one eye blind.
